Hello, Blogosphere |
Well well. Here we are. Being that this is my first post ever, I might as well introduce myself. My name is The Teacher. That, obviously, is a pseudonym. My girlfriend, The Dutchess of Kickball introduced me to blogging so I figured I might as well make my own and see where it leads. I teach reading to elementary students somewhere in NY. I'm an avid kickballer and hiker. You'll be hearing about both of those in future posts.
I am proudly owned by my 2 1/2 year old pug named Gilfred. He's the laziest dog I've ever known; he sleeps at least 14 hours a day. As a matter of fact, as I'm typing this post he's asleep on my legs, curled up in a little ball and snoring away. When he's awake, he eats grunts, snorts, and begs for food. When he's asleep he grunts, snores, and takes up WAY more room on a queen size bed than a 23 pound dog should.
Those of us who are owned by our pugs have all become accustomed to and generally tune out the snoring. The truth of the matter is I rarely, if ever, even notice it anymore. I can't say the same for The Dutchess, however. The first time both the pug and I slept at her house, I think she may have gotten 2 hours of sleep. Just wait til we get Gilfred a little sister. They'll snore in stereo and she'll become an insomniac. But really, The Dutchess has taken quite well to the pug and he and I fit perfectly in with The Dutchess and her two owners: Olivia and Merlot.
Olivia the lab/corgie mix and Merlot the cat are now Gilfred's sisters. After 4 months, Olivia and Gilfred are finally starting to cuddle! They love each other and are learning how to cope with each other's polar opposite personalities: Olivia is slightly crazy and high strung and Gilfred is, well, not. Unless Merlot is around. Then the story changes. Merlot and Gilfred have reached an understanding: he chases her and she runs.
So there you go. The first installment of Hug Your Pug. To all you animal lovers out there (especially pug lovers), what's your story?Labels: Gilfred, Olivia, The Dutchess |

23lbs? That sounds big for a pug! Maybe because he's a lazy ass? He sounds awesome... my kind of dog!
